This is a scene that has been repeated so many times in our films that we are not likely to notice it; But when it is not in this movie. The mother has been diagnosed with cancer now, she has been left for only three months to live and with a full head of hair, she has been left short. And so, even the most daily activity strikes, it takes notice of one sitting.

It is one of the dozens of moments that make Kolamavu Nightingale a special movie, and this is not least because it is a 'female-centric' film.

Nightingale (Nayanthara, which is now eligible for the morning show and Palace Abhishek) is not the result of rewriting a script to force a gangster movie for a powerful heroine.

It is a very organic film without its female leadership,without its innocence, its momentous moments to imitate the excessive demonstration of her innocence. The reason for this is that it is a very human story.

Drug smuggling is something that has to be forced after being told about its mother's cancer and there is no other way to earn 15 lakh rupees for her treatment.

And like the Walter White of Breaking Bad, what we are seeing is a dark turn when the normal person lives in the most difficult times of the day. Yet it sets aside that the film treats the darkest conditions even with humour.

There is a hilarious five-minute stretch, which is essentially a long rape joke, where the whole family gets together to kill a gangster after each other. What is disappointing is what happens between such awesome scenes.

It seems that a lot of time has been spent on establishing a great view, which is again followed by slowness. It also does not help how things get a little messy, such as drugs and smuggling often happens in films.

Still, it is still one of the better films we have seen and departing from the teachings which are defined as feminist films.

Kolomavu Nightingale is bizarre, ridiculous and funny and we can not wait for the lady superstars to offer.
