Movie Review - GOON: Last of the Enforcers (2017)
First off, I would like to start by saying if you haven't seen the first one, GOON, go and watch it before you watch this you will appreciate it more.
Jay Baruchel, co-writer of the first installment, comes back to write and direct this Canadian comedic masterpiece of the quaint life of a recently injured and retired hockey enforcer Doug 'The Thug' Glatt, played by Sean William Scott. After losing a fight to the movie's antagonist, Anders Cain, played by Wyatt Russell, and injuring himself on his punching arm, Doug resides himself to a life a tedium and 'documents' until he realises that he has another arm. (He is a bit slow from all the head knocks, Sean William Scott plays him very well) Learning from the previous movies antagonist Ross Rhea, played by Liev Shcreiber, he returns to face his rival yet again for an ultimate showdown!
Needless to say, this movie is perfect for hockey and gore fans alike, and comedy fans as well of course. The simple yet genuine motives of the character really make you want to root for him by the end, plus it's Stifler and Sabretooth punching each other in the face while trying to stand up on skates. Hilarious.
