Jurassic World 2 Stars Have a Close Encounter

The first action-packed trailer for J.A. Bayona's movie focussed on Claire and Owen heading back to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs from a second round of extinction, and one scene saw the cast in an open field as a volcano explodes. Forcing Claire and Justice Smith's Franklin to find shelter in one of the gyroscopes, the new image shows the pair is being stalked by a particularly dangerous Carnotaurus. Franklin is a young scientist from Dinosaur Protection Group, who is replacing Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson as the youthful additions to a doomed strolled around the park. Pulled directly from one of the biggest action scenes in the movie, the image looks to come just before a T-Rex attack and that big gyroscope chase.

With Jurassic World being a box office Goliath, there are hopes that Bayona can strike it big with the sequel and also improve on some of its predecessor's problems. Dallas Howard cemented herself as a fan-favorite, and with returning Jurassic alumni like B.D. Wong and Jeff Goldblum alongside newcomers like Smith, James Cromwell, and Toby Jones, Fallen Kingdom could be the perfect mix of old and new to keep the franchise fires burning.

Death may be around every corner in the series, but with fans already aware that Fallen Kingdom will directly lead into a proposed Jurassic World 3, expect at least Claire to live to fight another day. As the leads of this new Jurassic era, it's safe to assume Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt aren't going anywhere.
