The Decision

in #entrepreneurship7 years ago (edited)

In a world of distraction, and plentiful opportunity, I'm starting to realize an epidemic amongst young people all across the world.

One way or the other, making DECISIONS is probably one of the most feared things a human can do. Decisions entail a commitment, it entails saying yes to something and therefor saying no to something else, in a world with so many options, why would you ever want to lose out on everything that's possible?

"Keep your options open," "don't put all your eggs in one basket," these are common idioms that you hear growing up, that encourage indecisiveness and ultimately that encourage living at the whim of your circumstances.

Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, Leanardo Dicaprio, Gary Vaynerchuck, Tony Robbins, Tom Brady, Serena Willliams, Picasso, Leanardo DaVinci, Ben Franklin, Nikolai Tesla, Albert Einstein... What do all these people have in common? Yes, they were all "successful" but why?

They made a DECISION

You can make a decision to do a lot of stupid things or things that don't benefit anyone, so to take it one step further, what kind of decision did all these great leaders make?

They made the DECISION to be THEMSELVES, fully. They didn't make a decision to "do" anything, they didn't make a decision to "have" certain things, they made a decision to "BE" they knew they were put on earth to be.

The right decisions take self-awareness, the most powerful thing a person can do is know themselves. When you know yourself you know your strengths, you know what makes you happy, you know your passions, and with this knowledge, you can change the world. In YOUR way.

"Self Awarness: when you know who you are, EVERYTHING changes" - Gary V

"EVERYBODY is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it's stupid" - Einstein
