The Environmental News

As a strong believer that the human kind and the world needs to go towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way of living I write about environmental related news with my reflections on things.

The environment takes another big leap Today!

Today France reported that at the end of 2040 the country are going to put a ban on selling any gasoline or diesel fueled cars. This was announced by the environment minister of France. He also said that at least one European manufacturer already taken the leap towards the same goal, hinting on the announcement by Volvo done the previous day.

Anyone in France to have bought a diesel car before 1997 or a petrol car before 2001 are going receive a bonus when they go over to a new electric car, making it easier for the French car fleet to be switched over to the new goals.

They have confidence in that the manufacturing of cars in France are well prepared for this change as they wish the French economy to take a lead role on the green economy change.

The country have the ambition to be carbon neutral in 2050, which means they are phasing out coal energy production in 2022.

Other countries has already anounced the same thing, including Norway and the Netherlands that plans to do the same as early as 2025.

Volvo pushing for Electric and Electric-Hybrid

Yesterday the Swedish car manufacturer announced that they are going to change their production and stop making petrol-only cars from their production plants by 2019. They will instead make electric or electric-hybrid cars. A bold but good announcement that has been taken well in the EU.

By August 2nd we are consuming more in 2017 than the earth can produce. This is call "the overshoot day" and every year this date comes earlier and earlier. By doing something small every day we can change this trend and maybe save the planet.

Steemit is all about added value, not added content

Hehe, it's what we need to do. I will make damn sure people know that this is not yet another Facebook copy/paste like machine.

PS. The poster @hamzaoui changed the post after my comment about it.

:D good luck with that.
Value is subjective though.

its a great step, we here in India is trying to push electric cars by 2030-trying to ban gasoline run cars by that time frame- a sudden change is not easy but a must if we are to sustain life supporting climate on Mother Earth

That's very positive news to hear. India being a big player in this I'm sure.

Maybe is not too late, I am a pessimistic person but about the future of humanity, I am still optimistic.

Optimism is good @bluemoon 🤗

Hey, at least we are on the path towards enlightenment already, aren't we? 😅

Excellent article. I had not heard about France going this route. But, it's awesome. Cleaner air and spurring a new industry. It would be great if more countries adopted this.

I hope we are on the right path with these changes. They are fragile but I have hopes that they will honor then.
