One of the BIGGEST ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHES in history - Aral Sea // Eine der größsten Umweltkatastrophen der Geschichte - Aralsee
Every day, humans destroy by polluting the oceans, polluting the air and destroying nature our planet. The destruction is a shameful process. In addition to this small-scale destruction, there are always terrible events that make regions in a short time uninhabitable.
With increasing world population, the number of man-made disasters has also increased. If you do not really get along with the daily pollution, today I'll introduce you to a catastrophe that caused fear and great misery - the Aral Sea.
The Aral Sea was once the fourth largest lake on earth. However, not much is left of the 68,000 square kilometer lake. The volume of water has dropped by 90%. Where once the shore was, is sometimes 100 km nothing but to see dry land, means - the shorelines have been partially shifted by up to 100 km. In the former fish-rich waters, there is no life and is thus boilogisch dead. Blame for dehydration are flawed plans and greed. Enormous amounts of water were pumped out of the tributaries of the Aral Sea to irrigate the desert due to cotton and rice cultivation.
Researchers assume that the lake completely disappears by 2020. What will remain is a salt desert full of pollutants. The consequences have long been felt. Two-thirds of the plant world and the gigantic fish population have already died out. Many people in the region are affected by this, many are suffering from cancer and type.
The good news: at least in a small part of the lake, water and fish have been returning for a few years now. A small town in southwestern Kazakhstan benefits from the return of the water. The split into two pieces of lake seems to recover so strong that even can be fished again. Some villagers have already resumed their original way. It will be interesting to see how the lake develops over the next few years.

Täglich zerstören wir Menschen durch vermutzen der Meere, verpesten der Luft und zerstörung der Natur unseren Planeten. Die zerstörung ist ein scheichender Prozess. Neben dieser kleinweisen zerstörung gibt es aber immer wieder furchtbare Ereignisse die Regionen in kurzer Zeit unbewohnbar machen.
Mit steigender Weltbevölkerung ist auch die Zahl der vom Menschen verursachten Katastrophren gestiegen. Bekommt man die tägliche Umweltverschmutzung eigentlich gar nicht mit, stelle ich euch heute eine Katastrophe vor, die für Angst und großes Elend gesorgt hat - Der Aralsee.
Der Aralsee war einst der viertgrößte See der Erde. Jedoch ist von dem 68.000 Quadratkilometer großen See nicht mehr viel übrig. Das Wasservolumen ist um 90% zurück gegangen. Wo einst das Ufer war, ist teilweise 100 Kilometer nichts anderes als ausgetrocknetes Land zu sehen, heißt - die Uferlinien haben sich teilweise um bis zu 100 km verschoben. In dem ehemaligen fischreichen Gewässer gibt es kein Leben mehr und ist somit boilogisch tot. Schuld an der austrocknung sind fehlerhafte Pläne und Habgier. Es wurden enorme Wassermengen aus den Zuflüssen des Aralsees abgepumpt um die Wüste wegen der Baumwoll- und Reisanbau zu bewässern.
Forscher vermuten das der See bis 2020 komplett verschwindet. Was bleiben wird, ist eine Salzwüste voller Schadstoffe. Die Folgen sind schon lange zu spüren. Zwei Drittel der Pflanzenwelt und das gigantische Fischvorkommen sind bereits ausgestorben. Viele Menschen in der Region beeinträchtigt das sehr, viele leiden an Krebs und Typus.
Die gute Nachricht: Zumindest in einen kleinen Teil des Sees kehren seit wenigen Jahren Wasser und Fische zurück. Ein kleiner Ort im Südwesten Kasachstans profitiert von der Rückkehr des Wassers. Der in zwei Stücke geteilte See scheint sich so stark zu erholen das sogar wieder gefischt werden kann. Einige Dorfbewohner haben bereits ihre Ursprüngliche Art wieder aufgenommen. Man darf gespannt sein wie sich der See in den nächsten Jahren entwickelt.
