It’s my Payback Time: OCEAN (Part-2)

We have talked earlier about the importance of ocean in part-1 of this blog. Now it’s time to move over serious aspect. According to a study around 13 million tones plastic garbage is reaching to ocean every year. Micro plastic is one of prime contributing to pollute ocean.

Do you know that marine animals can make 10 lakhs microscopic pieces of a grocery shopping plastic bags and when these micro plastics become a portion of their food then this becomes the reason of their death.

Do you know that 83% of drinking water contains micro plastic. The awareness about the problem of micro plastic is very less. We can’t see the micro plastics by our naked eyes, that’s why it’s difficult to identify.

The micro plastic is widely in use now a day whether it is cosmetic or medicine. Nearly 1 million Plastic bags and 1 million Plastic bottles are being used every minute in world and out of it 50% of plastic is being used for single usage, which contributes 10% of total plastic garbage. The usage of single time usage plastic has drastically increased in last five to ten years. According to a study if we will not get aware about this then our ocean will have more plastics than fishes in ocean.

The nature has started to give us warning. We have thrown so many of our garbage in the ocean by assuming them global dustbin and whatever we have thrown in them, they are coming back to us in the form of very tiny particles by the mean of rain, air and other mediums.

We are all worried about what it might do to humans and animals in the long term. No one knows the consequences yet, but better safe than sorry.
