Apple's list of movies in 4 K and HDR: Soon a compatible Apple TV?
Some movies to download or rent on itunes are indicated as compatible with 4 K and HDR, which is not the case with current Apple devices.
When Apple lifted the veil on the fourth generation of the Apple TV, some were amazed to see the lack of compatibility with the 4 K resolution. But we were in 2015, the TV manufacturers were starting to really get started and Netflix had already taken the fold. It was perhaps a lack of flair on the part of the Cupertino firm (despite a still low equipment rate) but it intends to repair this error in the near future to believe the plug of a handful of movies to download/rent on itunes.
Apple TV 5, 4 K HDR?
More specifically, a reader of the site MacRumors realized that the film passengers he had just purchased mentioned the 4 K and HDR compatibilities in its history. Now, for the time being, itunes only allows you to watch it in HD (720 p or 1080 p) quality. Our colleagues checked the shared information and confirmed it with another feature film: The Fantastic Creatures (it remains confined to the 720 p).
As much as to say that Apple is currently preparing the field to allow playback of videos in 4 K and HDR via itunes. We are thinking about a hardware update of the Apple TV, which would be a premium for the HDR technology (to sublimate the contrasts). It would be a logical evolution and there is only hope for third-party applications in line with this change. One thinks for example at Amazon Prime Video or Netflix, which makes some exclusive features depending on the support.
The market is now in the hands of the 4 K: UHD TVs are available in all sauces, in all ranges and at affordable prices while the consoles are also compatible (Xbox One S, PS4 pro and soon Xbox One x). In short, the current Apple TV is no longer really the standard and the American giant should soon and logically launch a fifth grind to better meet the requirements of well-equipped users. We will not forget, either, to recall that the latest ipad Pro is HDR (bright peak at 600 nits). He also wants to be fed to make use of his virtues in the display
