Intermediate update: websocket, new login in web-version, optimization

in #eos5 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone! A very important update for PokerChained is around the corner (you’ll read about it at the end of this article), but we have something that may please you already! Meet the:

Websocket

A very important improvement, that made the game 4-5 times faster than earlier - the usage of websocket in PokerChained’s clients. We’ve developed our own solution (as far as we know only one service could provide us with this possibility - but we prefer not to use third-party solutions), which consisted of reconfiguring of nodes and development of corresponding plugins. This approach allows to considerably reduce load for nodes and save the battery power and internet-traffic for our users. Hurray!

New login in web-version

Earlier the only way to play in PokerChained’s web-version was by using Scatter. Unfortunately, this solution considerably slows the game (+2 second per each action - an astronomical number by online-poker standards). That’s why we propose the new way of login - via simple import of EOS account’s private key. Despite we think that this is the most comfortable option for our users (there’s no need to confirm every action or configure whitelist and there’s no limitations in speed), we understand that it doesn’t suit everyone - that’s why the login via Scatter is still available.

Further plans

We’ll release a very important update very soon. You can surely expect:

  • service for registration of EOS accounts.

  • solving the problem with keys (crashing of one player’s game won’t affect the game for others, regardless of reason and stage of the game)

  • solving mistakes during the showdown

  • correct positions of players at the table

  • referral system

  • complete redesign of mobile and desktop clients

Looking forward to seeing you at the table!

Best Regards,

Graphene Lab

P/S We'll release the update of client for Linux a little bit later

Sort:

Logging in to EOS games/applications by importing the EOS account’s private key instead of using Scatter is good, because some people can't use Scatter.
I have a laptop with a 32-bit CPU and obviously a 32-bit Windows system, and Scatter works only on 64-bit systems.
I have not played PokerChained so far, but I like the new login update.
