Ke Xu is a person who has defined such a vision for herself, her team and her new baby: ONO. ONO is the first social networking DApp to be launched on @dan Larimer's EOS.io blockchain.

Why should we be excited about that?

To me one of the most exciting characteristics of ONO's whitepaper is the fact that their core principle in order to maintain a healthy ecosystem is: culture.

If we did one step back for a moment and thought about what matters to us in our real life communities, then we'd quickly come to the conclusion that we generally choose our environment according to cultural values.

Now if we transfered these basic needs to a digital, decentralized and self-governed community, then they wouldn't actually change. Then any type of consensus would always find its starting point in the common agreement on a certain set of values, fostering collectivity and the overall benefit for the whole community.

In a real social environment the sustainment of human values always excels personal profit.

Rights and interests will be defined in a 'Common Programme'

The 'Common Programme' - a referendum - will be one of the most important components of the ONO social network. It's idea is that:

All ONO users (...) can publish proposals for the ecosystem’s infrastructure, platform management and dispute resolution matters.

That pays tribute to the main principle again, according to which there is nothing more important for the network than the interests of the users themselves.

The network will be designed to reward those who especially contribute to it. An incentive mechanism within ONO will encourage the creation of high-quality content and like that attract more users that are interested in creating and consuming quality content.

A synergistic and healthy feedback cycle among quality-driven creators and curators will be formed.

If you believe in human value exchange, integrity, freedom and governance through consensus, then ONO launched on EOS might become your future home.
