I have the exact same issue. I can't believe how flaky the whole process is... I think is demonstrates just how immature this method of funding is right now.

I was contemplating trying to add the tokens to MetaMask using the info provided:

Token Address: 0x86fa049857e0209aa7d9e616f7eb3b3b78ecfdb0
Decimals: 18
Symbol: EOS
Name: EOS

Anyone know if that is likely to work, or will I just lose my tokens?

Sort:  

You won't be able to add it to MetaMask without using the EOS distribution interface. If the distribution interface doesn't work for you, then you can still add by unlocking your account in MyEtherWallet.
