Caring for the Front Line
Today I wanted to talk about something a little less scientific, an unravelling of thoughts in a difficult time. While many of us are forced to shut ourselves indoors or observe social distancing, there are those who put themselves on the frontlines against the coronavirus epidemic. Doctors, nurses, store clerks and everyone else that contributes to easing this difficult time are showing tremendous courage. Those who must attend to patience are facing the virus head on and fears, anxiety and many other damaging emotions are experienced on a daily basis. It’s scary thought to turn up to work everyday, thinking that you too may fall sick. In normal circumstances, some individuals may has opted to resign from their positions for some of the most menial issues. A new resolve have been found among people and it has lead the hard fight against this ordeal for months.
The epidemic has brought out the worst in people, but it’s also shown that people have compassion and care for the rest of humanity. We all must care for one another and those who make the choice to be brave and serve as a backbone to society. A smile, words of encouragement and the very best services are given day in and day out. They only ask that we respect their efforts and act responsibly. Those who work throughout the epidemic put much at risk, they are not without their own worries. People have families, friends and other loved ones they miss and worry about. In some cases, people are separated for long periods without a moment to spare as they keep up the good fight.
Understanding the pressure and mental strain in this situation is the minimum that I could offer as I thought about the store clerks who turned up to work. Remembering that doctors and nurses have the same fears as I do too, makes me want to express great admiration, respect and love for all these amazing human beings. Panic buying and fearmongering only increases stress on our frontline. Fear runs deep but compassion for those who are doing their best for us cannot go unnoticed and it’s paramount that the rest of a population are able to provide sentimental support. Doing our bit in every way will help to keep the wheels turning as the world makes its journey away from the epidemic, we simply have to be considerate and remember all that is being done to keep us safe and alive.
Take care and be safe.
