Masjid Raya Baiturrahman Banda Aceh

History of the founding of Baiturrahman there are at least two versions.
The first period of Sultan Alaudin Mahmudsyah I in 1226 AD. Another version mentions this mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636). Construction of the building is not like now, but only grounded hard, wooden and roofed with palm leaves.
Now, the mosque is able to accommodate 24 thousand pilgrims, both inside and outside the mosque. During this time, only 9,000 pilgrims can perform the service in the mosque.
In addition, currently the ablution of Masjid Raya is 288 units and is in the basement.
