The changes referred to are in the form of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and motives of farmers' actions. With these changes, it is expected that farmers will be more open, active and dynamic.

Thus the subject of the aim of agricultural extension is not only to generate and change the knowledge, skills, attitudes and forms of farmer action, more important is to change the nature of passive and static farmers to be active and dynamic farmers. The farmer must finally be able to think and stand alone to try and implement something he has heard and seen.

The purpose of long-term agricultural counseling is to improve the standard of living of the farming community, or so that the welfare of farmers is guaranteed. A prosperous farming community is the goal to be achieved by agricultural extension.

This can only be achieved if farmers are willing and able to change the way they do farming. Willingness and ability to change farming methods are expected to make farming more productive.
