probably because the smell is not as good as roses, cempaka and others, chicken shit flowers are not so desirable people. even so the odor factor does not cause the community to keep it as an ornamental plant, because chicken flower in fact has a high efficacy in terms of herbal and traditional medicine. according to, Chairman of Genocide Source Center Bio Science plant UPM, Serdang Selangor, Dr.Moh.Said Saad, this plant is efficacious to treat injuries on the limbs. Basically this plant has a good property as a herbal treatment because this plant has antiseptic properties. antiseptic properties of this plant tagetes erecta L, is present in the mucus that comes out of its fresh leaves. Based on the acknowledgment of some traditional medicine practitioners, chicken shoot leaves can also be used to treat swelling or terseliuh on certain limbs. how to use it by squeezing a few strands of leaves and placed in a swollen place. Then wrapped with a cloth and left until the feeling of swelling disappeared (Anonymous III, 2009).
