Bitter truth or sweet lies
There are times we need to be bold to tell ourselves the truth. There are times you need to own up to the fact about who you are. I have seen people who look in the mirror to make positive affirmations to themselves, saying things like I am beautiful, smart intelligent and the rest, but do they believe what’s coming out of their own mouth.
Facing reality sometimes helps to see your situation as what it is and get over whatever it that you are facing. The truth about life is that not everyone will like you, not everyone is like you, and it is not everyone has your best interests at heart. There will always be people who will put you down, and it is for the sake of those people that you must get used to accept the truth about yourself.
When you look into the mirror what do you see? Are you happy with your own reflection? Are you proud of the man/woman you are becoming? Or do you wish you were someone else? I remember how much I wanted be someone else, just because I wanted to be accepted by everyone, but I soon learnt the hard truth that even if you are perfect, not everyone will like you, you will still find people who will be jealous of your perfection.
It is okay to admit to yourself you are not good enough for something, this does not mean that you will not get better. It’s okay to admit that you are not good enough for someone, but that does not mean you are not good enough for someone else. Facing the truth in this situation will help you move on quickly. Don’t stay tied up to a lie; if it’s something is not working then you have 2 options, you either make it work or move on. Though this is not as easy as it sounds but it’s the best thing to do.
So bitter truth or sweet lies which would you prefer? Is it the bitter truth that would that is bitter to swallow but would liberate you in the long run, or sweet lies, that are sweet in the beginning or but will potentially destroy you in the end. Whichever you prefer the choice is yours and so is the outcome.
