First Time RI Will Have Toll Road with Tunnel
Cisumdawu Toll Road Development Continues to be Driven
The Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) continues to speed the construction of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll Road (Cisumdawu). This toll road will be the first to have a tunnel in Indonesia.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuldjono admitted, the development of this toll road is quite good. "Keep going, now the tunnel work is also continuously done, I just want to see to it," said Basuki in Bekasi, Saturday (16/09/2017).
Cisamdawu toll road is designed to have a tunnel because in addition to preserving nature, also for the improvement of the quality of toll road projects undertaken in Indonesia.
"Yes it is more expensive than the hill, but this is a better value, we want to cut the hill," said Basuki.
Penetrating Cilengsar Hill, this tunnel has a length of 472 meters and 14 meters in diameter. Currently, 65 meters have been successfully penetrated. This tunnel itself is located in Section 2 Rancakalong-Sumedang.
Construction Section 2 Phase I Ranca Kalong-Ciherang (6.35 km) is now in final settlement. As for Section 2 Phase II Ciherang-Sumedang (10.70 km), construction progressed by 13 percent.
It is said Basuki, Cisumdawu Toll is one of the national strategic projects (PSN) which is expected to increase connectivity between Central region with North West Java.
This Toll will also connect the national strategic area of Bandung Basin with West Java International Airport in Kertajati, and will be connected with the Cikampek-Palimanan Toll.
With this toll, the travel time of Bandung-Sumedang will be shorter, and the traffic load on Jalan Cadas Pangeran will decrease.
