Redenomination in 2019

With the exchange rate of US $ 1 which is still the five-digit equivalent of the rupiah value, BI claims to be pushing back to discuss the Bill draft (RUU) simplification of the rupiah value (redenominasi) or change the Rp1,000 to Rp1.
The reason is that until this year, the Redenomination Bill has not yet entered the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) in the House of Representatives (DPR).

"Maybe later in 2019 or 2020 to enter the bill Redenominasi," he concluded.
With redenomination policy, BI will cut three rupiahs. For example, (money) from Rp1,000 to Rp1, so the rupiah exchange rate becomes smaller in nominal terms against other countries' currencies, including the US dollar.
