NASA guess: This is on another Planet or on Planet Earth?
Utah - There's always a place on Earth that has a unique natural landscape. Even NASA once said, if the place on Earth is like on another planet.
Through Instagram @nasa, NASA often post photos of several locations on Earth from outer space. Make shaking my head!
One of them is a photo with caption 'Is this reddish landscape on another world or right here on Earth ?. Seen from NASA's Instagram, Wednesday (9/5/2018) the photo was posted late 2017 and photographed by Paolo Nespoli, astronaut from Europe.
The photo is really amazing. Taken from a height, visible landscape of red and rocky rocks. At a glance, like not on Earth alone.
Eiiits, but it turns out the place is still on Earth. It is Canyonlands National Park in Utah, USA. As seen from NASA's photos, the natural landscape is unique and red.
Launching the official website of US National Park Service, Canyonlands National Park is the most beautiful 'geological gallery' in the world. The land there was formed by sediment that lasted millions of years ago.
The soil and rocks there are from distant mountains. The fragmented rocks are carried by wind and water (Colorado River and the Green River), creating sediments that eventually become layers of varying sedimentary rocks.
Coupled with the movement of the earth's crust, making the natural landscape at Canyonlands National Park very different from in other places. The ground is dry and reddish, rocky rocks, high cliffs and little bushes make it a tub on another planet !
With an area of 337,598 hectares, the US government is very guarding this national park. Even so, tourists are still allowed to come there and enjoy the nature.
Trekking and camping are the main activities at Canyonlands National Park. But remember, there are only 6 points there that can be visited that is Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, Horseshoe Canyon Unit, The Rivers and Cataract Canyon.
Canyonlands National Park is near Moab City, Utah. Can catch a plane to Salt Lake City International Airport, then take a 2-hour car ride. Many, too, drive 7 hours from Las Vegas.
Already many US tour operators offer travel packages to Canyonlands National Park. Welcome to Earth, another planet flavor !
