How to Reap Profits With Apple Planting

In Indonesia, apples can grow and bear good fruit in the highlands. The center of apple production in Malang (Batu and Poncokusumo) and Pasuruan (Nongkojajar), East Java. In this area apples have been cultivated since 1950, and developed rapidly in 1960 until today. In addition, other areas with many apples are East Java (Kayumas-Situbondo, Banyuwangi), Central Java (Tawangmangu), Bali (Buleleng and Tabanan), West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara and South Sulawesi. While the center of planting the world is in Europe, America, and Australia.



Apple Planting Technique

Apple plants can be grown in monoculture and intercroping. Intercroping can only be done if the soil has not been covered by canopy leaves or before 2 years. But at the moment, after going through some intercroping research on apple crops can be done with plants that have low habits, such as chili, onions and others.





Apple plants can not be planted at too close distances because it will become very dense which will cause high humidity, less air circulation, inhibited sunlight and increase disease growth.

The ideal planting distance for apple plants depends on varieties. For varieties Manalagi and Prices Moble is 3-3.5 x 3.5 m, while for Rome Beauty and Anna varieties can be shorter ie 2-3 x 2.5-3 m.

Spraying disease

For prevention, spraying is done before the pests attack the plant or routinely 1-2 weeks once with a mild dose. For prevention, spraying is done as early as possible with the right dose, so that the pest can be immediately overcome. Spraying should be done in the morning or afternoon.

The types and doses of pesticides used in tackling pests vary greatly depending on the controlled pest and the pest population level, the more detailed control will be explained on the points of pests and diseases.
