ULOG student story with a lecturer

in #esteem7 years ago

Currently Acehnese netizens are being dissolved in the apologist preoccupation in addressing the case of student versus lecturer at Malikussaleh State University (Unimal). Some people with various forms of emotional campaigns look so eager to raise support for the student. While some people again with all the power and effort also do jihad argument to defend the lecturer.

As this controversial news rolls in, I try to listen to every conflicting argument in social media.
I am very grateful to Allah SWT because I do not know the two rising figures. This condition will certainly be a major capital for me to maintain neutrality so I do not fall into one of the gaping holes. Keeping it from getting into the dark holes is very important, because we do not know which hole contains snakes and which holes contain chicken eggs. Do not let the flaming spirit block our view so meubalek cak meutuka cok. The intention of the heart to take the egg, finally hand pecked snake. Shit, is not it?

In this paper, I will not enter the conflicts between student vs. lecturers who are currently being raging. Let the conflict be facilitated by those who understand the problem and be able to be wise. This paper will only briefly review maqam-maqam lecturers and students maqam-maqam (i) and efforts to create a harmonious relationship between the two. This explanation is important in order to avoid conflicts between lecturers and students. We certainly believe strongly that the conflict is not fun.

Maqam-maqam Lecturer
The choice of the word maqam in this paper is only to facilitate us in remembering, because this term is commonly used in the study of Sufism, where the Sufis have different maqam from each other. Some are in the lower maqam, maqam being (mid) and top maqam. The name of the maqam-maqam is also different.

It is also important to note that writing is not based on scientific research, but is based only on very limited partial observations and experience, so that it can not be used as a reference for the assessment of those parties. Thus, this paper is certainly not immune to criticism because of the weak methodological framework.

For simplicity, I divided the lecturers' maqam into three levels. First, Ideal Lecturer. This kind of lecturer is certainly very hard to find, though not utopian. This lecturer has a capable academic ability of course above the average ability of students. In addition to a brilliant brain, this lecturer also has a noble character, where not a student (i) was tyrannical, both the issue of value and other administrative cases.

Furthermore, the ideal lecturer can appreciate every student and not feel afraid rivaled. Every student's opinions and criticism will be heard with an open mind and every complaint will be accommodated as much as possible.

Even though he has a high intelligence, he does not position himself as the most knowing which in itself will make the student the least aware. Clearly, the ideal lecturer will be an idol for the students (i).

Second, Lecturer Abangan alias mediocre. Lecturers of this model are not synonymous with high academic ability. It could be low academic ability or student equivalent, but he does not pretend to know in front of his students. Nor does he position himself as a single information center or steward of truth. But, this type of lecturer often menzalimi student (i) its unintentional. Students who are smart and active can get a B minus grade, on the other hand, student skipper, beuo seuiet (lazy squared) and teungak-ngak alias snoring in the class is not closed the possibility to get an A plus.

The lecturer of this model, though democratic and friendly, but he is less concerned about his students. For him to teach is just a routine. This same lecturer remains respected by the students because of his humanist attitude. The small frustration and disappointment experienced by the student will fade with the passage of time.

Third, Lecturer Sok Mok. The term sok mok is difficult to find in the Indonesian equivalent of a good and correct. Freely, the word mok can be translated as the smartest, the most correct and the other righteousness. In the presence of his students, this model lecturer will portray himself as the High Mujtahid Imam who can not be denied in the slightest.

In the lecture hall he also pretended to be an army commander, and his students were positioned as red-beam warriors.
Lecturers mok, in the interaction with students often use less beautiful words heard, among them: out you, you do not understand, you are less update, you are too selfish, I have experienced, I have studied this tens of years, I have usually teaching in the international class, my research has been many and a myriad of other sentences that tone lowering students and exalts himself.

When criticized, this quasi-professor is very irritable. Similarly, when the student submits his opinion, he is just being cool and smiling sarcastically. The danger again, this model lecturer will do intentional tyranny towards students by simplifying the value obtained by students in the lecture.

The learning contract created in the lecture hall is only applicable to the student, while the lecturer can be his heart's content. If a student arrives late, he does not hesitate to close the classroom door. But it's his turn to leave, the students are in jail and have to wait in class. For the matter of value, this quasi-professor would prefer to do the uniformity. Usually all students will be rated B minus, indiscriminately. The value of C plus will be awarded to students who often differ with him.

Professor sok mok has different academic ability. Some of them have brains that are really smart, while others have low academic ability. For example, in his field research, he told his students to interview books.

For students, lecturers will be remembered all the time. His words will remain in his memory and his behavior will always be in his eyes.

Maqam Student
Just like lecturers, students also have their own maqam. The student's maqam will also be simplified into three levels. First, students are charismatic. He has outstanding academic skills and is often called a lecturer. The student's greatest goal is to get a GPA of 4.5. In the classroom, students of this model usually always get praise from the lecturer as a student uswatun hasanah.

If there is tension between students and lecturers, this charismatic student always becomes mediator by defending his lecturer. If there are other students who are less amiss with the lightning fast the charismatic student is making a report to his lecturer. The charismatic student with all his might and efforts will always fight for his own interests regardless of the fate of his comrades. Another characteristic of the charismatic student is his passion in licking the lecturer.

Second, students of Ulok. This student is the opposite of a charismatic student. He rarely goes to college for a variety of reasons. Usually he will refer other students as his assistant to be absent. If any he went to college, work just sleep, out into space or play games via android. Students of Ulok often debate and demean the professor in the classroom.
At the time the exam is held, students usually do not come up with excuses for various reasons. Worse, when his value does not come out, he will curse his lecturer and fabricate false stories to drop the lecturer's authority. Sometimes the student is also acting snobs activist, pretentious orator, pretentious concoctor and various other types of quasi.

Third, the students are cool. Students of this type appear mediocre, not too smart and not too slow. Students of this model are able to maintain balance in every action. In the classroom, he respects his teacher as a teacher who has uncovered the dark veil in his mind. If any want to criticize he will do so politely so that the authority of his lecturers stay awake. Outside the class, cool students will also keep communication and silaturrahim with their lecturers. Generally, this model student will gain success in the future, because he has been in the highest maqam.

Keeping Harmony
After listening to the above description, at least we already know where our position, both as a lecturer and as a student. Lecturers and students should be able to maintain harmony so that the relationship of both is not limited in the classroom, but can continue in a wider relationship. After all, the lecturer is a teacher, a teungku and a murshid who we must respect.

As for
