Great to see those kids enjoying their new computers. Have you looked at using Linux instead of Windows? It is free, but you obviously need someone with the technical ability to set it up. If they are using mostly web stuff it will do all Windows can do with less chance of viruses. You could talk to the Ubuntu Linux company as their founder Mark Shuttleworth is from South Africa and may be able to help you out.
Thank you Sir Steve, the problem is that the lessons are designed in Microsoft and accredited by our government. So we have to stick to their requirements, as the certificates of competency are also accepted by them. I will have a look if Linux has any child educational programs that are accredited by our government.
