The fisherman and the boat #2
Hello guys!!! How are you today? Certainly in good condition
Continued from post 1...
Traditional fishermen with their boats never escape from the daily grind. The fishermen and the boat are two friends who cannot be separated from everything because they need each other in the daily lives of traditional fishermen.
The residents of Lhokseumawe city, especially those in the Banda Sakti sub-district, the majority of the population work as fishermen, accounted for 70% of the population as fishermen, while the remaining 30% worked as traders and worked as civil servants and as private employees in small companies that engaged in trade.
So based on this population, residents around the Banda Sakti sub-district have jobs as fishermen. This happens because the location of their residence is very close to the edge of the beach, if you walk on the edge of an unbroken beach starting from Pusong Lama Village to Ujong Blang Village, the continued villages start from Pusong Village, Gampong Jawa, Hagu Teungouh, South Hagu, Ujong Blang and up to the Muara Batu District area which is still within the territory of Lhokseumawe City.
The population who work as fishermen also varies from casual fishermen, land fishermen, and traditional fishermen, but the most common are traditional fishermen who have simple fishing gear as explained in the first post.
This traditional fisherman is a fisherman who is very friendly to the marine ecosystem because the tools they use are one of the traditional tools that have been used for generations since hundreds of years ago.
It is said to be environmentally friendly especially for the marine ecosystem because they rely on fishing gear such as wooden boats, fishing hooks, and floating nets (jeu') whose level of operation takes large fish that are above sea level.
The existence of traditional fishermen on the seashore benefits from all the habitats of seagulls that often catch fish in coastal waters, said to be very beneficial because every traditional fisherman always keeps them from poaching done by irresponsible people.
Likewise with turtles which will land on the shore of the city of Lhokseumawe once a year to lay eggs and they are always safe because traditional fishermen always protect the environment and always preserve the environment around the coastal stretch of Lhokseumawe city.
The presence of these traditional fishermen is very beneficial for the seaside surroundings because they always maintain the preservation of the environment within the coastal area.
The fishermen and their traditional boats are always together every day, wooden boats with a distinctive shape of the Aceh region are their true friends in making a living in paying for their family life. This traditional fisherman is always there as long as there are beaches close to the open ocean waters.
The catch that they get from fishing results is very adequate so that they are able to pay for their family life and the cost of their children's education. This is evident from the author himself because the author's father is also one of the traditional fishermen who has sent me and my family to the arena of higher education. Thank you to all the traditional fishermen for your very profitable presence. Thank you very much.
