Facebook Will Remove Content Driving Violence

in #esteem6 years ago

imageFacebook again raises its status from malicious information spreaders and violent triggers. The social media company says they will be able to remove the posts.

This method can be used in Sri Lanka. The country was recently shaken by misinformation about interreligious and racial issues that spread through Facebook. The incident then moved Facebook to tighten its rules.

"There are some forms of misinformation that have caused physical damage, and we will enable us to remove the content and we will start to apply it up front," said Faceboook spokesman AFP on Thursday (19/7).

For example, Facebook could be replacing content that is not Right or the opposite of the wrong thing. The company also partners with local organizations and parties that will go to check the truth and content security. This new policy will also be able to take over similar content but can encourage violent behavior.

Earlier in Sri Lanka circulated slander that Muslim people poisoned food and sold it to Buddhist people. It can not get under control on Facebook and cause misunderstandings.

Facebook has been criticized for spawning rumors or false information. It is feared to contribute to the rise of violence.
