| Yesterday I wrote how the sea gets its own special smell, mainly due to the decay of algae. Today, I want to share with you, friends, photos of algae thrown to shore. Although, to be precise, it is not algae, but brown sea grass, which is common in the shallow waters of the Azov Sea. Constant winds tear off its roots from the seafloor and driven it across the sea, so that it eventually hit the coast. In some places on our beach, this grass has formed great bizarre heaps that reminded me of the outline of crocodiles or maybe hippos. Probably because of the fact that there are so many algae on the Arabatskaya spit, the smell of the sea is so much felt there. | Вчора я написав, яким чином море отримує свій особливий запах, в основному це через гниття водоростей. Сьогодні я хочу поділитися з вами, друзі, фотографіями водорослей, викинутих на берег. Хоча, якщо бути точним, це не водорослі, а бура морська трава, яка є поширеною на мілководді Азовського моря. Постійні вітри відривають її коріння з морського дна і женуть через все море, щоб вона врешті-решт потрапила на берег. В деяких місцях на нашому пляжі ця трава сформувала великі химерні купи, які нагадали мені за обрисами крокодилів чи може гіпопотамів. Мабуть через те, що на Арабатській косі так багато цих водорослей, там так сильно відчувається запах моря. |
