Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin: Adoption is more important than ETF

Vitalik Buterin is founder of the blockchain platform Ethereum also spoke on the SEC's decision regarding the Winklevoss ETF. He sees in the mere narrowing of the use case of crypto currencies as investment assets a false development. Rather, one should focus again on working on the global adaptation of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.

Cryptocurrencies, mostly Bitcoin once again caught the attention of the mainstream in the past week. The reason for this was in addition to the encouraging increase in market capitalization above all the continuing debate over the renewed suggestion of the Winklevoss brothers to found a Bitcoin ETF. He again rejected the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC), which raised many critical voices in the crypto scene.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin is also one of them - but he does not come in the same horn as the critics of the SEC decision. Instead, as so often, he sets himself apart from the crowd and promotes a more differentiated view.

Buterin: Focus on adoption - not speculation

In a Twitter post the Russo-Canadians criticized the one-sided focus on Bitcoin as an investment asset. The establishment of a Bitcoin ETF serves only to invest in Bitcoin for speculative purposes, but not the exchange of Fiat in crypto, in order to make transactions. The Bitcoin was originally developed as the first cryptocurrency but not as an investment case, but as an alternative means of payment.

"I think there is too much emphasis placed in BTC / ETH / whatever ETFs and not enough emphasis on making it easy for people to buy from $ 5 to $ 100 through cards at corner stores. The former is better to pump the price, but the latter is much better for the actual adaptation "

Champion of crypto technology

Instead of focusing on the next price increase, Vitalik Buterin prefers to focus on the continuous development and improvement of his Ethereum platform. In particular, the scaling problem still causes developers a headache. Possible solutions like sharding or plasma have already been presented, but a breakthrough is still waiting.

He's right.
WE need adoption, and the wall street whales need speculation. This is no problem, but we are more :)
