Passengers will be able to pay at the airport with digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Dash, Ethereum and the like. The cryptocurrencies will be accepted in several shops, and then in all terminals of the airport.

The Brisbane Airport's statement notes that such a payment method allows to maintain anonymity and to do without intermediaries, due to which a low commission and a favorable exchange rate are possible.
The success of the Brisbane Airport going through with their plan may also make other major airports around the world accept cryptocurrencies as a method of payment, therefore increasing adoption of the technology.

But you do not have to use Bitcoin. You can use any of the faster confirming cryptocurrencies.

Well, once you have confirmed the transaction, you cannot cancel it. All you have to do is present it to the vendor (or the vendor can check it thru the blockchain) and you're free to go.
