EFOLIO Adds Support For Ethereum Name System (ENS) And Ethereum Address Explorer

in #ethereum7 years ago

We've added support for the Ethereum Name System (ENS) as well as an Ethereum address explorer to EFOLIO. What does that mean exactly?

First, if you aren't familiar with ENS, checkout https://ens.domains/ which provides a full rundown. Basically, ENS is like DNS, except with all the decentralized goodness that comes with the blockchain. And, it means that, instead of cutting/pasting an address like 0xfb6916095ca1df60bb79ce92ce3ea74c37c5d359 you can use an address like yourname.eth.

We have ENS support in several different places on the site:

  1. We have an ENS WHOIS form which allows you to discover information about an ENS name, including who owns it, what address it resolves to, and what smart contract it uses for name resolution. One cool thing is that, upon querying for a name, you can immediately see the holdings of the address, including the ETH balance as well as any of token holdings.
  2. You can also use our Query The Blockchain feature and provide an ENS name instead of an Ethereum address. We will use that name to find your Ethereum balance and token holdings.
  3. If you want to participate in our free token giveaway and earn POINT tokens by interacting with the site, you can provide an ENS name for receiving your awards and points.

As we built the ENS features, we realized that we could very easily provide Ethereum tooling to discover ETH and token holdings based on addresses, similar to how Etherscan works. As such, we added another tool called Ethereum Address Explorer that allows you to cut/paste any Ethereum address and to discover the ETH balance and token holdings of that address.

We believe in the ENS vision and are excited to bring these tools to the community at large.
