Skynethereum: Is the world computer already hijacked?

Etherians - is the world computer already hijacked or will the world of Ethereum still be of benefit for humankind?

I really want to hear some opinions regarding what is happening right now. There are new ITOs/ICOs every week, some started by the same people, and the stakes are getting higher each time. And each time there seems to be more pressure put on the network, and it's getting harder and harder to get even a tiny slice of the pie. Or maybe that's the problem - most of the slices we want are just too thin, we're too skinny to even make it to the table.

From experience I, and many along with me, seem to be losing transaction fees with almost every ICO we try to get in on, but we're ultimately not getting in on the action. Even if we're in the battle field right on time. Most tokens seem to just land in the wallets of a few whales. Just the amount of transaction fees must be sitting nicely for someone, somewhere.

I really wanted to get in on the people's money. Being part of something great. But now the fight feels like worse than a Wall Street nightmare. Tell me what you think and where you see the Ethereum network going - are we already seeing Skynethereum being born?
