A week on edge...

in #exhaust5 years ago

I just finished a 3.8km run that lasted about 0hh:26mm:11ss !

Do you ever have moments where you just have too much energy, and don't know how to expend it? I've had several of those days this week.

I just feel permanently on edge.
Part of it was from my job interview from Monday... I haven't heard anything, which is fine, they did say next week... and these things always take longer than you'd expect... but I also feel so weird about it. I've beaten so many of my peers for jobs in the past, I think out of something like 18 contracts I only missed one contract at the interview stage... but for this role, I might be the only person going for it and still not get it.

I get that it's totally not a reflection of me at all... given the questions they asked, I'm not super sure I'm what they had in mind.

To add onto that... this is the week we've been waiting for our insurance for the kitchen to come through... The original cheque was for a 1/5th of what we needed, and after literally 3 months of haggling and harassment we got them up to...... 1/2 of what we need. Um, yay? Definite progress for sure, but now we have to see if our extremely patient builder still likes us and can work with that budget. 3 months of no kitchen is definitely wearing on us... but I'm sure insurance companies win by exhausting people... and if I know anything, it's that @exhaust is on my side!

All that nervous energy has been awesome for workouts though... maybe I should be anxious all the time?

GOOD LUCK ON THE JOB!! YOULL BE IN MY THOUGHTS OF GOOD VIBES!!! GREAT RUN. ONE DAY, WHEN IM ABLE TO START MOVING AROUND LIKE I WANT TO, IM NEVER GOING TO STOP!

Hey hey!

To be perfectly honest, I have Actifit installed already and I keep forgetting to post it. I don't use my phone much in the evenings, and I truly just forget to press the Post button. Even yesterday, I must have racked up over 15,000 steps... and totally didn't touch my phone at all.

Thanks for the good vibes! Hope you're able to move around like you want to soon, I know all about that.

HAA. COOL. IM SURE YOULL PUT ACTIFIT TO GOOD USE. DEFINITELY SHOULD TRY TO PRESS THE BUTTON!! RIGHT ON!

Glad your making the most of that nervous energy, and good luck with the new job.
And no, there should not be an "Insurance Claims" section for Exhaust.
Regards Vince

Hahaha, thanks Vince!
So I don't have a new job just yet... I'm interviewing for one, but I'm not super confident that I'm what they're looking for... even if I think I'd totally rock it.

Woo! Glad you got a bit more out of your insurance company, even though it's not the full amount. I don't think you want anxiety even if there are some running benefits. Calm and tranquil seems like a better way to go. Maybe you should meditate?

That's a really good suggestion! To be fair I've never truly learnt how to meditate properly, even though I've tried a number of times... I guess like everything it takes a ton of practise to get good at it.
