Please enjoy a few pictures taken while exploring Pikes Peak Summit and an area called The Garden of The Gods, Colorado.

It is over 14,000 feet with amazing views! This is just one of the many places you should visit while in Colorado. Please excuse the fact that I have taken a few pictures from inside a car! I promise we got out and enjoyed the view haha!

First, the drive up was something to admire. The dramatic shift from the plains to mountains is abrupt. In many pictures, the area is nearly flat then rock faces shoots up to expressive peaks of over 14,000 feet.

The wildfires took large swaths of forest, but the area went through still had some of its old growth.

There has been a lot of conservation work in the area. This is one of many reservoirs being created along the mountains becoming a sanctuary for life.

Once at the top, I kept forgetting to take pictures. I was lost in the clarity of the view.

Of course they have fudge in the mountaintop shop! I was able to avoid buying any, but it did look good!

Along with the amazing views, there was much to learn! Being a visitor to Colorado, I found many of the monuments and informational boards very interesting.
