RE: Steem is at the forefront of monetisation of blockchains and creating real value for STEEM besides speculation.
I realized that investing in something you have no control over is very stupid. It is essentially gambling. I am not a programmer/developer so what am I going to do to contribute to bitcoin? If I can't find a way to either enrich the value of bitcoin, or earn more bitcoin, then why am I just going to speculate on the price? That is a dumb way to earn money.
On the other hand, I can actually contribute to the Steem blockchain using the dapps and help form communities that enriches the platform. That way, not everything is out of my control.
Most people are just holding bitcoin/litecoin without being able to do anything to improve and enrich it. That isn't a good investment. Steem on the other hand puts power into my hand because there are things that I can do!
This echos my thoughts at this stage of blockchain development as well! I would only add that Steem also connects stakeholders in any role they play. For example, a developer is just as much an investor as a content creator is as both are building value for the ecosystem.
