F1: No to Race Director Dictatorship

in #f18 years ago (edited)

This is the situation after GP of Mexico 2016: it is time to stop or what we will see in the future, it is a series of overtaking decided after a closed door meeting.

There is no doubt about the penalty of Vettel, in Mexico, as one of the most disgusting show ever seen so far. Ferrari itself, it is politically worthless in F1 hence they treat this team like a dog. Even more, another prove about this statement, it is the way Mercedes and his drivers are forgiven every time there is an incident, crash, aggressive behaviour or overtaking. It is clear nobody want to be responsible deciding a F1 championship using a piece of paper. We can understand it but what we can not understand, it is this double standard when talking about other teams.

I can not find any explanation about the show we watched in Mexico, where after ready-start-go, Hamilton cut the first turn going straight like if it was a single line. Perhaps, he was sure no penalty was going to come. Quite frankly, in this F1 you can give the trophy after the first turn because it is like an highway where it is better to shut-up and just drive.

Woe betide anyone who breathes a word!

Wait a minute! Once upon a time, there was a F1 where if you were not doing a turn you might die, today if you do not turn you just win a race.

Hoooray...

Another little thing which is useful to understand this F1, race directors are those really capable to decide the winner or loosers in a Grand Prix. Do not get me wrong, it is better to leave alone any conspiracy theory. Against this Ferrari, it is impossible to face one with such technical troubles, it can not be any kind of target at all to any evil entity. Truth is, we got something even worse. In Mexico, as well as in the majority of this modern circuits, a F1 car does not have a real opportunity to make a real, aggressive but clean overtaking. Each time, two cars get too close to skim each other, an investigation is opened. Like in a normal street when in a cross road, two cars crash together and an investigation must be done. In F1 any rules of engagement are more restrictive than a no-fly zone in the Middle East. There is more chance for a milkman with a van to counteract a Lamborghini or a Viper, that a racing car to oppose a Red Bull.

Strange to underline what Max Verstappen is allowed to do in this F1. Always over the edge but each time rules are not applied but just selected. Anybody else, you got no tollerance at all! In this F1, if you are a specific team or a specific pilot, you do not need to worry about it: you get what you want...

This F1 looks like a wrestling match, where any result is decided previously by a corrupt referee. If this is the best expression of motorsport, better to move along. That is the reason this Mexican GP 2016, it did a big harm to this show. It is not the penalty of Vettel (Given three hours later when race was over) but the fact this motorsport lost any credibility. We are actually in a regret about those old days when during '70s or '80s, F1 was real, macho and anarchical. Where problems were fixed on the track, not in a race-director room.
