Eddie Jordan's F1 predication - McLaren - Mercedes engine deal and Petronas quitting
Eddie Jordan, the F1 ex-teamboss and previous owner of Jordan F1 racing is well known to make outlandish predications. These predications have turned become true, much like Lewis Hamilton's move to Mercedes from McLaren. During the Azerbaijan GP, he has also made more predications on the shape of things to come for 2018 coupled with the recent rumors and facts floating around the F1 pitlane.

My feeling is that a divorce is imminent between McLaren and Honda, Mercedes would be more than happy to step in and supply the engine for 2018 and beyond.
Mercedes on the other will try to continue in F1 at least until 2020 as per F1 commercial rights agreement. Petronas with the loss of the Malaysian GP could continue until then, as this would be great to market their brand outside of Malaysia. If not, Mercedes, a 4 times wining constructor will easily find a replacement. Whether this new relationship will be as successful is another question! Depending on how the relationship between Mercedes and McLaren develop, Mercedes could easily sell their F1 team and go back to becoming an engine supplier beyond 2020.
