"Facebook censored me. Criticize your government and it might censor you too."
Zuckerberg also promised last month to continue working “to ensure our community is a platform for all ideas and force for good in democracy.” [from the veteran libertarian, James Bovard]
The first part of the mission is proper, the second part vacuous, cultist rubbish. There is nothing "good" intrinsically about "democracy" to begin with, and it is by no means self evident that censorship by Zuck and his bots is a "force for good" more than freedom of speech. (How badly have the young people been brainsoiled? The smartest people in the country keep prattling stupefying ignorance of American first principles, and idiotic cultishness.)
Democracy is a compromise solution intended to give the people a way periodically to remove from office those who exercise governing power over them---I have no problem with this. I have a serious problem with the cult of democracy worship. It is not a magic mantra. It is not a holy divinity. It is very far from a panacea: rather it is fraught with grave dangers to civilization.
