Charcoal and Honey face mask

in #facemask7 years ago

Alona Steemers,

So as you know I have an interview tomorrow- first thing in the morning. Rather than leaving appearance prep work till the last minute and just to make myself feel good, I'm doing a face mask tonight.
Literally sat here with this lathered all over my face whilst typing this, ha!

So if like me your skin dries out during the winter, with having the heating on and the harshness of the cold outside confusing your skin-then this mask is amazing!! For face masks I tend to make my own, as too many chemicals within a product can bring out a reaction to my skin such as redness, or even more dryness or I just do not notice anything different!! Also this alternative is soo much more cheaper as well longer lasting!

I always wash my face with warm water just to open up those pores a bit and pat dry with a towel.

  1. The two ingredients you shall need will be Honey and Activated Charcoal Tablets (you can purchase these via Amazon)- but make sure they are ACTIVATED- I shall explain further down.

  2. Get like 3-4 tablets into a little container and crush them to make a fine powder- try to crush down on those little bumps.

  3. Add about a tablespoon and a bit more of honey into the crushed charcoal tablets and mix to create a goop.

  4. apply to face,i use my fingers and don't be afraid to scrub it in if you have too, as you can see i've covered a lot of surface area including my nose and around my eyes.

Don't be put off by the blackness of the mix,it won't stain your face, but will stain fabrics so keep away from fabrics.

Benefits:
The honey helps restore moisture on my skin without it feeling greasy, and gives it a healthy glow, not the sweaty dewy kind. My skin feels much smoother too.

now to the activated charcoal bit.
Activated Charcoal chemically binds other substances to its surface and can absorb thousands of times its own weight. So to use this on your skin it draws any impurities, such as blackheads and dirt found in your pores (a bit like a suction). This is such a good ingredient for treating acne and irritated skin. There are other ways in which to use the Activated charcoal, such as teeth whitening or for stings and bites.

Keep the mix on for like 20-30 mins just so that the honey works its goodness into your skin, and the charcoal absorbs as many toxins out as it can.

Wash off using warm water and pat dry let your skin just be for a few moments before applying moisturizer. If you have tried this,or will be...let me know how it goes. This mix always works for me!!

Peace out all,

Han
