Child training: is it good to beat or spank your children

in #family5 years ago

I wrote this on my facebook page yesterday.
There are arguments on this topic.

SEE MY WRITE UP BELOW:

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

What I learnt as a child and now as a father is that...

Beating is not equivalent to training, correction and discipline..

Before you beat or give corporal punishment, ask yourself this question.

Have you train or instruct this child?

Have you verbally correct his mistake?

Do you maintain discipline yourself..

Do you have a routine...

Children learn by observation...

If your want your child to be reading the Bible , start reading it.

He/she would start saying Daddy read it for me...

Same with prayers, waking up early, switching off the TV early, washing and ironing clothes, being truthful, Giving to charity,
Helping others, speaking kind words , being thankful.

Some parents just like the easy way out : "Beating and spanking"

It is disheartening if your child ever asked you " Mummy what did I do wrong this time again?"

May God help us to train our children the way he/she should go
