Hey Moms (& Dads), we all know how this story goes. You go on a vacation or an outing with your kids and take a million photos and a few video clips on your smartphone. You get back home and carry on with your life. The end.

Then one day your phone beeps with a notification that the storage space is running out. You dump all the content onto your computer and it collects virtual dust in folder labeled: photos to sort out. Perhaps some of you are with it and keep the photos and videos organised, but you still not getting to the part where an awesome album or video gets made.

Those days are over. Our smartphones are filled with simple features to turn your memories into awesome videos you can share with the family and friends. A video edit shouldn't take you more than 20 - 30 minutes if you know what you are doing. We have put together an easy to follow 90min course to teach you how to make these videos, but before we get into that here are two Tips to get you going.

Tip 1: Store your footage in folders!!!

This video is an extract from our online course. We cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your footage organised in folders or albums. As demonstrated on an iPhone in the video, this task task only takes 30seconds to do. Spend this tiny amount of time at the end of each activity or day of filming. You don't need to edit right away but at least you are ready to go at any time. Believe me, what is a 30sec job now turns into a 2hour headache down the line that we usually just ignore. It would be a real shame to horde all your memories on a hard drive somewhere.

Tip 2: Start with an easy App like QUICK by GoPro

Quick is great for a starting point.​
Let me start off by saying the thing that I don't like about Quick is the same thing that makes it brilliant to start off with. It does everything for you. This is great in the beginning as it takes the pressure off, but not having control also limits what you can do. After a few videos you will start to get bored of the templates and music they provide. In our course we teach you how to make your own templates so you can make videos in your own style. It's not as hard as you think.
