Campaign To End Violence Against Children In Nigeria Powered by CPS & UNICEF (familyprotection)
Violence against children is a pervasive problem, very close to home, in Nigeria, with six out of every ten children in the country suffering one or more forms of physical, sexual or emotional violence before they reach 18.
This form of violence either affects them psychologically or otherwise. You see men sexually harassing teens in other to satisfy their unending sexual urges.
Mothers sending their daughters or giving out their daughters to men all for money there by causing them emotional breakdown.
The vast majority of children never speak out, silenced by fear, shame, stigma and a lack of knowledge of where to seek help. Fewer than five per cent of children who are victims of violence ever get the help that they need to recover.
Their cry out for help needs to be heard and that's why I'm making this post under @familyprotection so that the world can hear their cry.
Say no to any form of violence against children for children are the prospective leaders and builders of tomorrow. I'm grateful enough that such a community as @familyprotection exits. With such forum we look forward to reduction of this violence.
