Origin:

Its refreshing aroma made them use it in perfume. The Romans also used it as a cooking herb. Mixing it with honey, sweetened their breath after ingesting wine, practice punished for them with death. The Arabs drank mint tea to increase defense against disease-transmitting insects and as an aphrodisiac.
