Cinnamon: as it is sown and its properties
source
Cinnamon grows in hot and humid climates of not less than 24 ° and no more than 30 °; You can plant it near garlic or pepper to ward off pests.
You can plant the cinnamon in a large pot in what grows and then transplant it to the ground. If your goal is not to expand too much you can leave it in the pot and it will grow little more than a meter. If you want to plant cinnamon directly on the ground, take care that there is a space of 40 centimeters between the plant on one side of it.
When to plant?
Cinnamon plant in rainy season so that it can take root and support the subsequent winter. If you already want to transplant, wait again for the rainy season.
How do we prepare the land?
The Cinnamon tree grows in humid lands so you can plant it in slightly clayey soils. It has to be a fertile and deep soil. Make sure the soil is free of weeds and has good drainage. If this is not the case you can add a substrate such as coconut fiber to prevent future puddles. An important fact is that if you want the tree to grow a lot you have to leave more than 40 centimeters between the next plant. I recommend a minimum of one meter. This is so that the tree does not absorb all the nutrients and kill the other plants.
How do we water?
Water regularly, once or twice a week is enough. If the soil is still wet, do not water so that the roots do not rot.

To plant Cinnamon we place approximately three seeds distant one from the others as one centimeter. Also try that the depth to which you bury them is twice their diameter. Cover with dirt without crushing it. Make sure you have placed compost and substrate before burying the seeds. Water daily without letting the jet of water fall directly on the seeds. Place the pot near a place where the sun or the greenhouse.
At first do not let the rays hit you directly, That's right when it has germinated or you do the transplant you must be in a hot and humid place, this in order to develop as it should be, for this minimum six hours a day give you the Sun. This is necessary so that the process of photosynthesis is carried out and the plant does not die.
The transplant takes place approximately four or five months after sowing. The cinnamon tree is ready to be harvested after two or three years for the first and, subsequently, every two years.
What you have to do is remove the bark, which should come off easily after the rainy season when the stem is moist. If you planted the tree on the ground this will probably have a height of three meters.
Other indicators to harvest is to check that the bark is a brown color since this means that it is ripe. Likewise, the stem should measure between 3 and 5 centimeters in diameter. You can cut some branches with a saw, preferably those closest to the ground, put to soak and then detach the bark with the help of a knife. The newly harvested bark has to be exposed to the sun for a day, so that it begins to dry and coil, until it has the shape of a tube. This process takes about a week, but do not worry if it takes a little longer.
Normally and in my case I use cinnamon a lot in sweets, nothing like a tasty rice pudding with its great touch of cinnamon, it is the maximum but it also contains beneficial properties such as antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory, so a good tea can help us to control stomach pains and collaborate with those annoying gases !.
Among others of its properties is:
• It is antioxidants
• It is immunomodulatory.
• High percentage of vitamins: calcium and potassium, among others
