Hello friends, I know that I am very new on the platform but browsing this platform I saw that there was this great community that is dedicated together learning about agriculture, crops, among other things, so I will be guided by some publications that I read and by the way I loved them and I will try to do something great and educational for you!

Since I was a little girl I listened to my mom as I recommended chamomile to people with pain in the eyes, or swollen feet so I decided to start here, accompany me learn with me about this wonderful plant !.

This type of medicinal plant is based on small white flowers very similar to daisy, 1-2 cm in diameter. The flowers can be dried and turned into an herbal tea with a fruity flavor. Chamomile is characterized by having anti-inflammatory and digestive properties.

German-type chamomile are used for tea. It is easy to grow in containers or pots, its approximate height is 20-25 cm. It is characterized as an annual flower. On the other hand, the Roman variety, of perennial growth, is often planted as a vegetable cover for gardens or to cover the edges of pots or beds of culture. Another advantage of chamomile is that it attracts bees, birds and other insects for their aromatic flowers.

How to Grow it:

1.- To cultivate chamomile, it is important that you plant the plant during the summer season, and that you do it in a land composed of two parts of black soil and one of river sand so that the plant can drain the water well.

2.- We must locate the chamomile plant where there is abundant sunlight, although I recommend that the light is not so direct.

3.- Water your plant every day if you want it to grow in a healthy way. If you let your chamomile dry, you will have to re-plant it and start the whole process over again.

4.- It was time to harvest only when you see that the flowers open completely.

5.- At the time of collecting the chamomile flowers, you should be careful not to cut any leaves or stems of the plant so that they can then grow back.

6.- When you have finished collecting all the chamomile flowers, place them on blotting paper or newspaper and let them dry in a ventilated place away from sunlight for at least a week. Once dry, you will see how the petals of the flowers come off leaving only the yellow part of the flower.
