After dressing, the man went to the kitchen and ask his wife: How do I look?

The wife looked at him from head to toe and shake her head in disagreement and said; You Look too Western. How will they know you are an African man dressed like this?

The man rolled his eyes and was like; There we go again. My African Conscious Wife. This is a Meeting with the White people, you don't expect me to wear Kaftan or a Tunic shirt.

The wife replied; you don't have to wear any of those to look African. Wait a minute, I will be right back.

Husband: You know I can't afford to be late for this meeting. Be snappy pls.

Wife came back with a pair of Colorful Adire Socks and A Green Adire Pocket square. In her words: I specifically chose these colors cause they both signify something powerful as you out today.

Wife knows that look and was like "I know that look but you still have to listen to me anyway".

You know I am the Best for you that was why you chose me among those fleet of girls and YOUR LOOK IS A REFLECTION/ REPRESENTATION OF WHERE YOU ARE COMING COMING FROM.

She moved closer to him and gently removed the Tie and replace it with a GREEN ADIRE POCKET SQUARE which signify FRUITFUL DAY.

She told him to sit down and bent low and gently removed the shoe removed the Black socks he was wearing and replaced it with a COLORFUL ADIRE SOCKS which means everywhere the man step his foot that day it will be a Colorful Ground for him.

The husband looked at his wife and how she gently treat him. He was so emotional and was quietly thanking God for giving him a Friend, Wife and Mother all in one.

She stood up and saw his an emotional man. She hold his hands and bless his day.

As the man drive to the venue he was happy and knew above all he has to make his wife PROUD. The colors on him gave him more encouragement as he could literally felt his wife presence.

Getting to the venue the 1st compliment he received before the presentation was his Beautiful African Pocket Square.

After the presentation, the whites were impressed at his articulate smart presentation and his company was given the Contract.

He got that evening SUPER EXCITED! Carried his wife from the entrance and told her how his day went. They were both Happy sang a Thanksgiving song to God the rest is a history.

Moral of the Story: It's so heart breaking that everyone is looking and dressing WESTERN at the expense of our Culture. Thank God for BLACK PANTHER that is changing the Dress code for a while now. What happened when the excitement about Black Panther has gone down? What happen when it is not in Trend anymore.

You don't necessarily have to be all on AGBADA. Just a subtle touch of anything that reminds you of your African. An IDENTITY OF WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM.
