A DRESS THAT FITS!!!!!! (PART ONE)
Growing up as a child, I remember running in and out of my closet with my friends and siblings changing from one outfit to another. We called it playing"dress up". It is something we do everyday , no wonder celebrities and movie stars can fit into their various roles perfectly due to their outfits.
As humans in general, looking good has always been a top priority. Everyone wants to walk into a room full of people and turn heads in their direction, especially for the ladies.
For men it has always been easy to fit into a pair of trousers and shirts, suits. But for the ladies, fashion is dynamic. It always has been, yesterday's trend can very easily become today's fashion faux pas while tomorrow's trends could be a throw back from previous years.
Getting a dress that fits is entirely different from getting a dress to fit. It's very important to take note that no matter the trends the ultimate determining factor is the body shape and size.
Society today, has made a huge deal out of the different shapes and sizes of women. There are the slim women, the petite/short, the medium, the thick, the chubby women.
The idea of a dress that fits is stepping out in outfits that flatter you no matter your body size.
slim ladies generally should go for outfits that that accentuate what little curves exist while playing down on the least flattening areas.
Peplum styled dresses and tops add a lot of curves to your frame giving a fuller look.It makes a perfect wardrobe staple.
Dresses with dramatic necklines also adds volume to the bust area which is the key. Scoop/round necklines are alternatives turtle necks. Neck accessories help too.
Belts should be a slim girls best friend because nothing spells curvy than a cinched waist. In place of belts shape wears are also an essential wardrobe additive. The key is to create the illusion of a defined waist and trimmed mid-line.Most shape wears come with adjustable straps which makes them more comfortable.
Baggy shirts and bright colored clothes are also great trend because they create a silhouette of added volume.
For fitted clothes, avoid loose end /holes and too clingy clothes. Fitted clothes are supposed to embrace your body's natural curves and not pinpoint your flaws.
Layering is also a great way to add volume.
For casual outfits, baggy jeans and bootleg jeans are trending styles. They give added dimension to the legs.
The kind of fabric you wear also plays a role. Bulky fabrics may look rigid on slim ladies so they are best avoided. Thicker materials add curves while clingy ones accentuate.
Skinny legs can be hidden under maxi skirts and scrawny arms by long sleeved shirts and blazers or jackets.
Skin showcase can also be fun with midis.
V-necks allow room for cleavage and neck bones showcase which turns out really flattering.
Black outfits should be avoided because they drown out an already small frame bright coloured.
