Paris and Fashion

The city full of secrets and mystery and her child
Since Coco Chanel, Sonya Rykiel and Christian Dior Paris is regarded as the mother of fashion and elegant - luxurious lifestyle . But what's exactly the magic of the city? And who was actually the mother of Parisienne Fashion ? This post will answer many questions you may have
Who
is
THE mother
of Parisienne Fashion?
Who was she?
Marie Antoinette was the first " Fashion Diva " but who came after her and how has this lifestyle changed over time ? Usually we associate names like Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Jean - Paul Gaultier with Paris Fashion. But who was influenced by whom ? How much Paris is in their fashion ? After reading the following timeline hopefully all these questions will be answered.
The mother of Parisienne fashion and the typical Pariser lifestyle is most probably Coco Chanel. She is the uncrowned queen of Parisienne fashion, but it was a different though equally stylish and sophisticated lady who brought this fashionably elegant lifestyle among the people.
It was the French queen Marie Antoinette. Born in 1755 in Vienna she had even then the image of a real Parisienne: Intelligent and stylish. In no portrait, official reception or celebration could you ever see her in the same robes, veils and her famous headgear had a rather limited lifespan in her wardrobe before they were exchanged for a new one.
Until her execution 16 October 1793 she was highly unpopular yet her lifestyle set the basis for people around the world today and even then as the typically Parisienne lifestyle.
First on this list who else than Coco Chanel? She was born in August 1883 as Gabriele Chasnel and she was one of the most famous fashion designer of the last century. She made short haircuts for woman and smart yet practical clothes popular.
At age 16, she began to sew and to be interested in fashion .
In her spare time she sang and danced in Parisian nightclubs as "Coco". A friend helped her build her first company. They started their own hats collection and later she created then the Chanel No. 5 perfume which is still world famous. After her death in 1971 she inherited Karl Lagerfeld who is still principal designer at Chanel and creates new hats, dresses and bags.
Yves Saint Laurent was considered a master of haute couture and for many even more meaningful than Coco Chanel. In his lifetime he already was the luminary of modern-elegant women's fashion. Through Christian Dior young Yves became famous and after a rather scandalous collection for Dior he opened his first store in 1966. The company expanded early in his history on the global markets. Although there were initial Financial problems, his biggest problems was his lifetime drug addiction. The day prior to his departure for military operations in Algeria he had a nervous breakdown which has been treated in a psychiatric clinic in Val de Grace with drugs and electro shocks.
To describe his life in a sentence I would quote Piere Berge "Coco Chanel has given women the freedom, Yves Saint Laurent gave them power. Piere Berge was until Yves death in June 2008 his long life partner.
Last but not least Germany's Karl Lagerfeld. The longtime chief designer of Chanel began his career in the 1950 at Balmain, Chloe or Patou. In 1978 he was appointed as creative director for Chanel. After founding his own fashion line Karl original he is considered as Germany's fashion King and his Choupete is loved by the Germans.
