save money, dress better

Everybody likes looking nice, but when you are on a budget clothes shopping can often come in second to bills or other more important things. My job as a substitute teacher in a preschool also comes with it's challenges when it comes to what to wear, modest and nice but also able to get dirty with who knows what on it. So it is with a lot of enthusiasm that I can share with you my three tips for dressing nice without the price.

  1. Sweaters and Blazers to the rescue, these outer items can really dress an outfit up without the price tag to match.
  2. Shop sales and shop in multiples. In my closet, which is a mess,  I have 3 pairs of my favorite jeans, the reasons being that they are very comfortable,  go with almost all the shirts that I own, and were on sale for $15 each. And they aren't the only item that I have multiple of, I have several of the same white t-shirts,  2 of the same pair of shoes (one for the farm where I live and one for my work without the muck on it). having multiples of the same item means that if its dirty you probably still have it clean somewhere as well, or that you can mix and match more outfits.
  3.  Shop smart. Sign up for the rewards programs/emails. I know, no one likes spam emails but you can often see BOGO offers, or $$ off coupons so that you can get the name brand with a fraction of the cost(bonus tip: set up a separate email for these). Shop in Walmart, it is where I get all my sweaters from and hey, almost all the clothing items they have are under $25 if not more. Maurices is the plus size gal's friend, in addition to having the regular selection they have a large plus size section that ranges from large to 4x and have online sales all the time. Charlotte Russe is where I get most of my jeans because I love the way they fit me, they have sales every few weeks so keep an eye out, they also have an ok selection of plus size as well.

let me know down in the comments your favorite place to shop.
