70 hours of not eating anything - Fasting log

It's almost 3 days since I last ate something.

Fasting App: ZERO

My mom would freak out if she knew about this. After all, food was the only luxury she told me and my sister that we could splurge on.

I'm not going to lie, I am doing this mainly for fat loss purposes. There are tons of journals and books and videos on YouTube you can check out about the miracles of fasting and I agree with them. But I'm only human, I still want to look good for my landlord's hot daughter.

Fasting is not a new thing. In fact you could argue it has been one of the oldest traditions humanity has ever practiced. From Jesus to Buddha to Socrates among many others, they all practiced prolonged fasting.

He looks healthy, doesn't he?

So why not try it?

I first tried doing prolonged fasts last December 2016, which was a bad idea since I had to stop my fasting due to the Holiday celebrations.

Since that, I've fallen of the wagon and gained about 25 pounds.

Being an impatient human, I implemented the most draconian of ways that I could lose all these weight fast, while also revisiting a previous goal that I have shelved for the last 9 months.

I plan on doing a 21-day water only fast ( ~502 hours), which I will share my progress and obstacles along the way. I will also be measuring Ketone levels and Glucose levels along the way.

Starting weight 160.4 lbs / 72.75 kgs

Day 1- So far the hardest, I've had the habit of buying sugar wafer cookies and Twix bar during work breaks and stop by Taco Bell or Jack in the Box after work. It was not easy.

Weight: 156.8 lbs/ 71.12 kgs

Ketone level : Negative

Glucose Level : 95 mg/dL

Day 2 - Slept for almost 12 hours, harder to get out of bed than usual. Noticed I'm more cranky at work, almost had a confrontation with a co-worker for some dumb situastion. My mouth is watering with any mention of soup/noodles. I added 3 grams of Himalayan pink slat as I saw this as a sign of my body craving for some salt.

Himalayan Pink Salt

Weight: 155.2 lbs / 70.39kgs

Ketone Level: Negative

Glucose Level: 81 mg/ dL

Day 3 - Slept for 8 hours, my mind is a lot clearer now. Maybe that's the reason I was able to post an article here. Feeling thirsty more this day. I increased my water intake by 500 ml.

Weight: 153.8 lbs / 69.76 kgs

Ketone Level: Trace

Ketone Strips

Glucose level: 72 mg/dL

So far I've lost 6.6 lbs / 3 kgs in 3 days which is great. But I also know most of it is water weight so I'm going to take the weight loss amount not that seriously.

I also have a plan when I finally break the fast, which will happen eventually. The last time I fasted this long I was ravenously hungry I drove as fast as I could to Chipotle and almost hit 2 cars and an old asian lady along the way.

For a primer on fasting, you can check Dr. Jason Fung's book: The Complete Guide to Fasting and some of his Youtube videos.

interesting post!

I'm on the search for Keto peeps here on steemit! Followed!
Are you still fasting?

Too bad there isn't any sub-steemit yet here. Harder to look for groups of people.

I still am! Are you on any sort of fasting routine right now? (16/8, 20/4, OMAD)? Thanks
