Are Crypto Faucets Even Worth Your Time for Established Coins?

crypto faucet

Crypto faucets are nothing new, and they exist for a multitude of currencies on the crypto market . However what I'm proposing today is more of a question and I want to get your opinion on the topic. The question is should you even waste your time trying to track down and go to crypto faucets for coins that aren't newer and have their established place in the crypto space such as Litecoin or Bitcoin?

What used to be a novel way to get some currency in a coin to get a new user going for these coins has really just become more of a minefield. Trying to navigate sites that just scream that they are wanting you to click some link so they redirect you to a page and try to perform some sort of malicious activity against you. Half you time I would look at these sites I would be scanning every URL and right clicking links to get the address they directed to then putting them in Google Safe Browsing or Virustotal.

Many of the sites would be flagged with one or two scanners hitting them up as a Malicious or Phishing sites. On these sites if you were brave enough to put in your crypto public key to try to get some token and click submit, often times you have to click on other links and are presented with lists of shady looking banner ads you have to click. I don't want to feel the digital equivalent of walking into a questionable dirty hotel room when I'm looking for a coin faucet, not a warm fuzzy feeling at all.

Not all faucets look like an ominous dark alleyway

Now there are some official looking faucets or even ones that you get directed to from the main page of a project such as BurstCoin faucets for example. Those however are few and far between in comparison to the laundry list of the other sites that match the profile I've described above. And if you get a reward it is often a miniscule amount, and I understand that most faucets are from donations. The point I'm making by mentioning the small reward is to bring home my opinion, small reward and large risk.

What are you thoughts on the topic, am I just going to the wrong places or do you agree with me here? What coins have valid faucets and are at a stage where you can still maybe get a coin or two by going to them?
