Featuring My Mom's Backyard Planted Dragon Fruit.
Dragon fruit is the English name, otherwise known as a Hylocereus cactus. It actually comes in different names Indonesia buah naga, Thanh long, Thai kaeo mangkon, nanettika fruit, Belle of the Night, Cactus fruit, Kaktus madu, and Night blooming Cereus. This fruit considered as one of the largest flower in the world. I cant believe my Mom was able to plant this kind of fruit in our backyard. I am so AMAZED!! What is the reason why this fruit is so unique? It is simply because of the blooms only open for one night, and the scents that you will smell on that night are exotically fruity.
There are three types of Dragon fruit
1st is the white fruit flesh and a yellow shell which rarer to see in a garden.
2nd is also white fruit flesh but the outer part is red in color.
3rd the fruit flesh is red same as the exterior. This is the one that we have in our backyard.
I haven't tasted yet the first two types of this fruit but one thing I can assure you guys this fruit are scrumptious!!! 😋😋😋
it sounds like a mythical fruit. i think here in Cebu this is called granada.
