Thanks!

I didn't write this story with serialization in mind, and since I didn't want to do significant rewriting I had to keep the installments kind of long (1200-1500 words) to ensure each installment made sense.

The stories I'm writing to post after this one are more like 500-800 words per installment and shorter overall, which is a better fit for this platform, I think.

Truth be told, I don't mind the 1500-word range. Maybe I would if everyone I followed wrote that length, but I appreciate a mix.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think it's just going to come down to the particular story, for me. I'm not going to force scenes to fit a particular installment size; what I'm doing is figuring out what feels right in the first part of the story, based on the complexity and planned length of the story. Then I look for break points, whether they're natural scene breaks or cliffhangers, revelations, etc. that come at approximately regular intervals.

I can't see going under 500 or hitting 2000 very often, but within that range my stories are all over the place.
